My Adopted Big Brother, Hardy!

Hi Kids!  Boar here!  Last time we got together, I told you I would tell you the story about how Hardy became my adopted big brother.

It is hard to explain something that happened so fast.  Mom and Dad found a stuffed bear wearing a dirty shirt at the State Fair.  I remember Mom and Dad coming home and Mom was holding a stuffed bear in her arms.

I sat on Dad’s lap as our parents told us about how this stuffed bear was at the State Fair and had no parents or home.  My parents said they could not think of any place better than our home where the stuffed bear would have parents and two siblings to love and play with.   Dad explained there are many children who do no have the opportunity to find a forever home, and felt that Junior and I would understand since we both found Mom and Dad, and our forever home.

To say that I was a little upset does not cover my feelings.  I just got over having to share my parents and my home with my baby sister, Junior.  Now, I had to share with this stuffed bear!

Mom took the dirty shirt off of the stuffed bear and washed the dirt and dust off of the fur.  Mom proceeded to put a red shirt on the bear, stretching the fabric over the bear’s head and slipping the bear’s arms into the sleeves.  As Mom pulled the shirt down over the bear’s belly, the bear looked up at Mom and for the first time the bear spoke saying “Thank you, Ma’am”.  We were all shocked!  The bear, Hardy, was alive like Junior and I!   I wondered if all of the stuffed animals in the world were alive too.

Days went by and we discovered that even though Hardy was alive like us, Hardy was quite different.  Hardy slept, and slept, and slept.  Dad said this is because Hardy is a bear, and, bears hibernate.  Mom read us a book about bears and their habitat.  We learned so much about bears and felt we understood Hardy even more!

When Hardy was asleep, Junior tried to poke at Hardy to wake up to play.  I would try to get Junior to let Hardy sleep, but Hardy would wake up and talk and play for a little while.  Before we knew it, Hardy was staying awake longer and longer.

One day,  Hardy shared with us about what it was like at the State Fair and how lucky Junior and I are to have such nice parents to love us.  Hardy never felt love like that at the State Fair.  Both Junior and I had tears in our eyes as we finally understood why our parents adopted Hardy.  We hugged Hardy and Hardy hugged us back.  I could feel Hardy’s teardrop falling onto my big nose when Hardy realized he was finally loved.  Mom and Dad watched from the door with tears in their eyes too.  We were a family, with love, laughter and adventures to come!

Now, jumping in puddles, making mud pies and rolling down hills is even more fun with all three of us laughing and playing together!

From the School Desk of Boar: Meet my Baby Sister

Hi kids!  Boar here!

Today, I want to talk about a tough subject for me.  Raise your hand if you have sisters and brothers.

Me too.  I wanted to talk about what a tough time I had when my baby sister, Junior came into my life.

The last time we got together I told you about how hard it was going from being an only child to having siblings.  It all seemed to happen so fast!  One day my parents and I were at a restaurant and before I knew it, Junior was coming home with us!  You see, we saw Junior hopping around in a bin full of stiffs, that is stuffed animals.  It seemed like we had no choice but to bring her home.  She was was alive!

..

Junior was pretty quiet during the car ride home, but once we got home she was all over the place!  I found out pretty quick that Junior was not like me at all!  I did not like having a sibling, and, I had to start sharing my parents, my home and my toys.  Everything I did, Junior did.  Everywhere I went, Junior went.  I was not enjoying being a big sister at all!

My parents saw how unhappy I was so they talked to me.  They told me how my sister needed time to get used to having a family too and how being a good big sister was the best gift I could give to Junior.  Being a good big sister meant that I not only had to share everything with Junior, I had to want to share too.

I remember it felt like a long time before I felt good sharing, but I sure don’t mind it now. Junior has added so much to my life I just can’t explain it.  Every day I find is a new adventure with Junior.  I love to play new games with Junior, teach her things that I know and even tease her like a big sister should, playfully.

Now, I hope everyone gets a chance to have someone new come into their life to enjoy too!

Enjoy reading about Junior to see how she not only grew, but grew on me!

I can’t wait to tell you about Hardy!

See you soon!

Have You Ever Heard of a Pet Rock?

Hi!  Boar here!

My siblings and I had so much fun making a present for Grandma for the holidays that I just had to write about it!

You see, Mom and Dad encourage us to use our imagination and heart when we are giving presents.  I don’t know what that means, but I know we sure had fun making it!  Since we already gave Grandma her present, I figure I can let you know what we gave her.  A pet rock!  Hey, why are you looking at me funny?  Didn’t you hear me?  We gave my Grandma a pet rock for a present!

..

Okay, okay, I know it seems weird, but it was pretty cool.  Although, I do have to admit, all of us kids saw that my Grandma was confused by the present.  But when she started playing with the pet rock she had so much fun!

Make sure you read about how we found the rock and turned it into a gift for Grandma!  I am sure you will love the adventure and fun of your making and owning your own pet rock too!

Now, I can only hope someone gives me a pet rock for my own.

Introducing Boar

My name is Boar!  Some of you may have already heard about me.  Some people think I am a stuffed animal, but in my experience, a lot of stuffed animals are just stiffs.  You see, I am real!  I can talk, feel and learn just like you!  There are a lot of us like me out here too!

My family found me at a pet food store.  They took me home thinking I was a stuffed dog chew toy and they gave me to Martha…THE PET DOG!   Martha played pretty rough with me.  I tried to tell her to stop because she was hurting me, but all that would come out was a squak!  Those days were not fun at all for me!

Since those days, I have a sister name Junior, she likes unicorns, and a brother named Hardy who likes to sleep.  We had to learn to get along.  At first, I didn’t even want more siblings!  My parents made that choice on their own.  In case you are wondering, both Junior and Hardy are stuffed animals too.  We all have  our own interests and personalities!  We also have lot of classmates!  It’s true!  Like I said, there are a lot of us out here!

Oh no!  I hear my Mom calling so I have to go!  I will write soon!  Make sure you follow my blog or visit me on Facebook.
