An adorable story inspired by true events, Boar by Cindy and Gus
Gee follows the tale of Neigh T Boar and her journey from a pet
store to her forever home. Boar was sitting on a shelf among the
dog chew toys when two people entered the store and she instantly
knew that she wanted these people to be her parents. Luckily they
decide to take Boar home but they didn’t know Boar was alive and
could speak. After giving a big yelp when the family dog used her to
play tug, they finally realized Boar was alive and that is how she
became part of the family. Follow along with Boar and her new
family.
Boar by Cindy and Gus Gee is a sweet and unique story targeted at
kids that looks at how you can find a family anywhere. I found the
story itself to be quite unique especially when looking at the
inspiration for the story. I thought it was really interesting that the
authors decided to turn their experience into a children’s book. I
also think young children would relate in the sense that toys are
very important to youngsters and oftentimes are seen as their
friends or even family. Seeing how Boar who was mistaken for a
chew toy became a member of the family could encourage children
to develop their imaginations in this sense. Overall, I think young
readers would really enjoy this story for its fun and imaginative plot
and lovely illustrations.
